Certified evaluation and accreditation is conducted by organizations certified by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology. For a successful approval, applicant bodies must fulfill the criteria set by the Minister in the standards, methodologies and frameworks of evaluation.

As of April 2020, the Minister has certified the 15 organizations indicated below. NIAD-QE is certified by the MEXT‘s Minister as an evaluation and accreditation organization of universities, colleges of technology and law schools.
