In 2000, NIAD-UE was reorganized as an new entity charged with carrying out the university evaluation in addition to the existing functions as a degree-awarding institution. Since then, NIAD-UE has been striving to develop effective procedures for university evaluation in cooperation with personnel from the universities, and has been conducting appropriate evaluations of education, research, and other activities at higher education institutions.
Furthermore, NIAD-UE is helping to create the foundation for university evaluation in Japan and enhancing the level of higher education institutions overall by actively providing information on university evaluation in Japan and around the world.
