Event: NIAD-UE University Evaluation Forum 2011 (Wednesday 26th October, 2011)
Theme:
New Paradigm of Quality Assurance in the Age of Globalization
-The "Functions" Viewing from Pratices at International Organizations-
Objectives:
The functions and roles expected in higher education sector have been diversified in a globalizing world. Japanese universities are encouraged to make themselves more individual and distinctive. However, there has not been adequate discussion yet in Japanese higher education (HE) regarding how to promote universities' diversification, uniqueness or strengths. Moreover, it is necessary to discuss quality assurance (QA) in Japanese HE with various international efforts in QA around the globe.
Focusing on the viewpoints from international organizations, which promote HE worldwide and engage with policy issues related to QA, this forum provides with an opportunity to discuss recent issues and future prospects of QA in global setting. The forum is to explore differentiation and diversification of Japanese HE sector and quality issues in HE, seeking new perspectives for the functions and roles of future Japanese HE referring to practices of the international organizations.
