Asia-Pacific Quality Network (APQN)

NIAD-QE is a full member of the Asia-Pacific Quality Network (APQN) since 2005. NIAD-QE’s staff members have previously served as a vice-president and board member of APQN, and we participate actively in network activities in other ways as well.

In particular, we hosted the APQN Conference and Annual General Meeting in February 2008 and the APQN/INQAAHE Workshop on Good Practices in Quality Assurance in October 2011.

NIAD-QE has won the APQN Quality Award in April 2013 in the category of Quality Information System. The Award recognized the practice of NIAD-QE's information Package and Japanese website as a good practice that have potential of replications among network. NIAD-QE received the 2018 APQN Quality Award alongside HEEC (China) and KCUE (Korea) in the category of International Cooperation in QA, for the five-year joint initiative to monitor the CAMPUS Asia pilot programs beginning in 2011.

International Network for Quality Assurance Agencies in Higher Education (INQAAHE)

NIAD-QE is also a full member of the International Network for Quality Assurance Agencies in Higher
Education (INQAAHE) since 2001. We take the opportunity of INQAAHE’s events to share experiences and good practices with other quality assurance agencies, and to update information on quality assurance provided by regional quality assurance networks.

NIAD-QE's practices entitled ‘Awarding of Bachelor’s Degrees through individual higher learning and outcomes assessment’ and ‘Promoting the Understanding of Quality Assurance in Japanese Higher Education’ have been listed in the INQAAHE Database on
Good Practices in Quality Assurance (GPQA Database).

The CHEA International Quality Group (CIQG)

NIAD-QE joined the CHEA International Quality Group (CIQG) in 2013 and signed a MOU with CIQG regarding Quality Principles in 2018. CIQG is a rewarding and important forum for universities, quality assurance agencies and others worldwide to address issues and challenges focused on quality and quality assurance in an international setting.

 

 

Asia-Pacific Network of National Information Centres (APNNIC)

The Asia-Pacific Network of National Information Centres (APNNIC) is a regional network of national information centres (NICs) of the State Parties to the Tokyo Convention to uphold and assist the practical implementation of the Convention. NIC-Japan has joined APNNIC representing Japan since its inauguration in 2019.
