On 27 August 2008, the 27 delegates from the Office of the Education Council, Ministry of Education (OEC) in Thailand visited NIAD-UE Kodaira Headquarters, and exchanged information with NIAD-UE's staff.

OEC is one of the educational agencies under the supervision of the Ministry of Education, Thailand and its main activity is to propose educational recommendations and policies to the government through evaluation and research works in order to improve the quality of education in the country.

The purpose of this visit was to study and observe the organizational development and management for better quality of Japanese educational institutions.

After greetings from the principals of both institutions, Tsutomu Kimura, President of NIAD-UE and Dr Amrung Chantavanich, Secretary-General of OEC, general overview of NIAD-UE's organization and administration, its university evaluation and degree-awarding activities, and Japanese higher education system was given by Vice-President Akihiko Kawaguchi, followed by a lively question and answer session in which a wide-ranging subjects concerning the process and principles of NIAD-UE's Certified Evaluation and Accreditation, and NIAD-UE's degree-awarding system were talked about.
