Report
The Open symposium of Asia-Pacific Quality Network (APQN), hosted by NIAD-UE (supported by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT), Japan University Accreditation Association (JUAA), and Japan Accreditation Board for Engineering Education (JABEE)), was held on 19 February (Tue) at the International Conference Hall, Makuhari Messe, Japan.

The theme of the symposium was: What's "University"? - from QA Community -. Considering the diversification of the mission of higher education, the symposium aimed to inspire all for ideas of excellent practices that can be internationally compatible through keynote speeches about practices for quality assurance in the APQN, the UK and the China, and the panel discussion by the experts in quality assurance community including UNESCO.

282 people, including those from higher education institutions, quality assurance agencies, governmental parties, APQN member agencies, NIAD-UE staffs participated in the symposium. They gained fruitful information concerning quality assurance in various countries and brought to their institutions/agencies for improving their higher education.
