2016	April	The National Institution for Academic Degrees and Quality Enhancement of Higher Education (NIAD-QE) is formed through the merger of the National Institution for Academic Degrees and University Evaluation and the Center for National University Finance and Management.
2017	June	The results of NIAD-QE’s evaluation of education and research at national university corporations and inter-university research institute corporations during the second mid-term objective period are confirmed and published.
2019	March	The number of people granted NIAD-QE degrees exceeds 80,000.
	June	NIAD-QE establishes the Department of University Administration Cooperation and Facility Support.
	September	NIAD-QE establishes the National Information Center for Academic Recognition Japan (NIC-Japan).
2021	March	The number of people granted NIAD-QE degrees exceeds 90,000.
2023	March	The results of NIAD-QE’s evaluation of education and research at national university corporations and inter-university research institute corporations during the third mid-term objective period are confirmed and published.
	April	NIAD-QE establishes the Department of Aid for Higher Education Institutions.
2024	March	The number of people granted NIAD-QE degrees exceeds 100,000.
