1st Monitoring in Japan

Overview of the 1st Monitoring in Japan

NIAD-UE commenced the first monitoring process in April 2013. Monitoring was conducted through self-analyses by Japanese program providers, as well as document study and site visits by outside monitors. The Monitoring Committee finalized monitoring results in January 2014. Following the finalization, the monitoring reports compliled for each program and the project report 'CAMPUS Asia' Monitoring on Quality Assurance - Collaboration among Japan, China, and Korea - Overview of the First Monitoring in Japan' was published in 2014.

The first monitoring in Japan adopted the following methods:

  • Based on the criteria stipulated by NIAD-UE, the monitored program providers analyzed the state of the exchange program, and the monitoring committee identified good practices for quality assurance and effective measures for resolving challenges in implementing the international exchange program.
  • Program providers sought recommendations and feedback from monitoring panels during the monitoring process in order to enhance quality through the exchange of opinions between providers and panels.
