What is the 'Information Package'?
The Information Package is an information provision produced by the National Institution for Academic Degrees and University Evaluation (NIAD-UE) which provides both basic and specific information on the Japanese quality assurance system of higher education as well as some of overseas in an integrated way.
With a view to further enhancing system understanding, these materials provide information that can objectively compare the system in Japan with that in overseas countries, in order to see how they differ from each other, and are expected to be used as a reference for policy development in higher education reform or quality assurance in Japan. These materials can also assist universities intending to build or strengthen international exchange activities with universities in foreign countries to understand systems in countries other than Japan.
The NIAD-UE produces these materials based on the information publicized by official agencies, with the help of respective governments, quality assurance agencies and embassies located in Japan. We will update these materials regularly.

Concepts
NIAD-UE strongly recognizes that the information provisions possessing the following characteristics would lead to high-level understanding for partners:
・Consistent information - authorized at organizational-level
・Integrated information - well- organized provisions (not fragmented)
・Reliable information - published as an official information
・Updated information - periodically reviewed and updated
NIAD-UE has organized the structure to address the information package working organizationally and sustainably in collaboration with the domestic and overseas authorities. NIAD-UE expects that the 'package' format, which combines basic and specific information, provides an integrated set of information so that the users may obtain high level understanding of the Japanese system. Furthermore, they may access a set of information on quality assurance with increasing efficiency to collate information.
