News: Bachelor’s Degrees Awarded to 2,281 People

 

2,281 were awarded bachelor’s degrees by NIAD-QE of the 2,373 people who applied in October 2015, including persons who graduated from junior colleges or colleges of technology and those who completed professional training colleges.

 

NIAD-QE awards bachelor’s degrees to learners who have accumulated credit hours as non-matriculated students at universities, and who have demonstrated academic attainment equivalent to the knowledge and skills required to complete an undergraduate program.

 

The procedure for awarding of the bachelor’s degrees involved expert committees established for each field of specialization evaluating the credits earned by the individual applicants as well as their learning outcomes and examinations. Based on the results of those evaluations, a final evaluation was conducted at the Committee of Validation and Examination for Degrees held on February 12, 2016.

 

The number of applicants for conferment of bachelor’s degrees in October 2015 and the number of degree recipients per field of specialization are shown in the table below.

* In April 2015, NIAD-QE introduced a special provision on the evaluation of academic attainment for the awarding of academic degrees to students who are scheduled to complete an advanced course at a junior college or college of technology recognized by NIAD-QE. The figures in parentheses show the number of applicants and degree recipients included in the total that fall under that special provision.
